What are you waiting for?! Here's your sign 🚧

Reader, it is time.

Time to schedule those appointments you've been putting off. Time to get that shoulder checked out after your slip on the icy driveway last winter. Time to add more of a vegetable to your plate than the garnish of parsley accompanying your steak.

It's time to make the time to live a healthier life. Here is a list of Pros and Cons for engaging in your own health care, getting screened, and following up on those appointment.

Pros

  1. Taking action to lower cholesterol LDL, and Triglyceride levels.
  2. Reducing risk for heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.
  3. Reducing amount of medications needed.
  4. Checking that the inner pipes are clean and functioning properly (aka going for your colonoscopy if you're due!)
  5. Reducing anxiety and depression by talking with someone.
  6. Finding the cause of pain.
  7. Catching something early through an annual physical or health screening.
  8. More energy!
  9. Treating underlying issues such as poor sleep or frequent urination.
  10. Improved quality of life

Cons

  1. Cost - perhaps higher co-pays, deductibles, or treatments.
  2. See number 1.
  3. See number 2.
  4. Are you starting to see a pattern?! FYI, the pros outweigh the cons.

I want you to experience all of the PROS of being active in your health care. Let's focus on this for the month of June. Break it down into 1 week, 1 day, and 1 task at a time. I'm rooting for you Reader! Let's do this!

Greetings Reader! I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. The unofficial start of summer has officially arrived, and I feel like I was left behind back in March. Is it just me or does time pass more quickly as you get older? Like trying to hold onto sand as it passes through your fingers. The tighter you try to hold onto it, the quicker it trickles through your grasp. I was reminded of this this past weekend as I decided to do some organizing. As I dug into boxes, bags, and...
